North Hills Parents On
Site Policy
North Hills' Parents On Site
Policy requires that children not enrolled in high
school must be escorted by a parent or legal guardian
over the age of 21 when they are in the public areas of
North Hills after 9:00 p.m.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
How will you identify children in this age group?
A: In order to prove one's age, a guest will simply have to
produce a valid ID from a high school.
Q: What if the child has no ID?
A: The child will be asked to wait with a Public Safety
Officer until his/her parent or legal guardian comes.
Q: What if the child is not enrolled in high school but has
just emerged from a movie and is awaiting a parent to
pick them up?
A: The parent or guardian will need to be there at 9:00 to
pick up his/her child.
Q: How does North Hills enforce this policy?
A: If North Hills public safety officers or off-duty police
officers determine that a child who is not enrolled in
high school is unaccompanied by an adult after 9:00
p.m., he/she will be given the choice of leaving the
property or waiting with the Public Safety Officer to
await his/her ride.
Q: Does each child need an escort?
A: No. A single adult can be responsible for a group of young
people as long as there is proper supervision and
control.
Q: Does the parent have to be with the child?
A: Yes. The adult will have to be able to have the ability to
maintain eye contact with the children for whom he/she
has responsibility. Otherwise, the child will be asked
to wait with the Public Safety Officer until the parent
or guardian comes.
Q: What about teenagers who work in the stores?
A: They are not affected by this policy as they must be 16
and older in order to work at a North Hills store or
restaurant. |
